Solemnity of the Birth of John the Baptist – Tuesday, 24th June 2025
On Tuesday, 24th June 2025, the entire Catholic Church joyfully celebrated the Solemnity Mass of the Birth of Saint John the Baptist. On this special day, we also gathered at our parish, Saint Arnold Janssen, as well as at various chapels across our settlement, to celebrate the Holy Mass and other Sacraments.
Some members of our community went on a mission visit to support the Catholic Women Action group. Notably, we visited Saint John the Baptist Chapel, located in Yangani Zone Four. Despite a heavy rain earlier that day, we were able to reach the chapel and celebrate Mass with many faithful Christians. During the celebration, we were blessed to baptize around 38 children.
After the Mass, we shared a joyful lunch with the community in honor of the chapel’s feast day. The celebration continued with performances by children and youth, including drama and songs dedicated to Saint John the Baptist. The faithful expressed great joy and gratitude for our presence and the opportunity to celebrate this solemn feast and the baptisms together.
Together with them, we gave thanks to God and prayed for peace in the whole world, and especially for all the candidates preparing to receive the Sacrament of Baptism.
