Second Day of the Holy Childhood Missionary Competition – Zone 1, Sacred Heart Chapel (Bidibidi)
Saturday, 21st June 2025

On Saturday, 21st June 2025, we held the second day of the Holy Childhood Missionary Competition in Bidibidi Zone 1, hosted at Sacred Heart Chapel. Many children from all the chapels within this zone came together to participate in this joyful and meaningful event.

The day began with the celebration of Holy Mass. During the Mass, we invited the children to pray for the success of their competition, for all children around the world, and for the Holy Childhood groups in other zones. This prayerful beginning reminded us of the importance of placing our mission work in God’s hands.

After the Mass, everyone moved to the old chapel, where the competition performances were held. One by one, the Holy Childhood groups from each chapel presented their songs, which they had composed in honor of the 150th Jubilee Year of the Arnoldus Family. These performances beautifully expressed the missionary spirit and the dedication of the SVD and SSpS missionaries serving in the Bidibidi settlement.

As we listened to their songs and watched the performances, we were deeply touched by their creativity and commitment. Their efforts reminded us of our missionary calling and the foundational work of Saint Arnold Janssen. We were filled with happiness as we saw the joy and excitement on the children’s faces. They performed their songs confidently and with great enthusiasm—clearly the result of much practice and preparation.

At the end of the competition, we presented awards to several groups who delivered outstanding performances. We also encouraged all the children to thank God for this opportunity and to continue praying for the mission of the Church and our missionary congregations. We especially asked them to remember and pray for our benefactors, whose prayers and support help sustain the missionary work we do.
