Holy Trinity Sunday & SVD Family Feast Celebration
Today, the entire Catholic Church joyfully celebrated the Solemnity of the Holy Trinity—One God in Three Divine Persons—during the Sunday Mass. We joined this profound celebration at Saint Arnold Janssen Parish and in several chapels across our settlement.
This occasion was made even more special as we also commemorated the Feast Day of the SVD Family (Society of the Divine Word). Together with all the faithful gathered, we prayed fervently for the mission of the Church, and in particular, for the missionary work entrusted to the SVD Family around the world.
As part of our celebrations, we were blessed to witness the baptism of about 70 children and 5 adults(from 2 weeks old to 80 year’s old) at Saints Peter and Paul Chapel, and 10 children at Saint Albert Chapel. These sacred moments marked a joyful milestone in the lives of the newly baptized and in the life of our community. In addition, 10 women received their First Holy Communion in these chapels, a truly special step in their faith journey.
After the Eucharistic celebrations, we engaged in a variety of joyful activities:
– Dramas and songs prepared by the youth and various groups,
– Visits to the sick and refugee families, where we also brought them Holy Communion,
– A shared communal lunch, strengthening our bonds in fellowship and faith.
We returned home with hearts full of gratitude and joy, renewed in the love and mercy of God.
At the close of this blessed day, we shared our joyful greetings: “Happy Feast Day to the SVD Family!”
