Mission together
On Sunday, all SVD fathers and brother, and all SSpS sisters, go to some churches to celebrate the mass and other Sacraments. After the mass they normally have some activities with children: Teaching them some new songs, guiding them on how to respond and answer according to the order of mass. They visit some people who are poor and the sick, and help them to receive Holy communion. They listen to some stories of the Christians, related to their families living in South Sudan. Some sisters check and give some medicine to the sick. Sometime on the road, our cars get a problem with the engine; So, father Wojciech or father Romy help us to repair, and sisters help us to pray Divine Mercy chaplet. After that we go back to our communities, in the love and mercy of the Lord our God.
On Easter Sunday, father Andrzej and sister Josepha went to saint Yangani church in Abrimajo; father Wojciech and sister Francisca went to saint Joshep in Yoyo; brother Bernard, sister Mariacel and father Andrew went to Immaculate Heart of Mary church to celebrate Mass and other Sacraments. In Immaculate Heart of Mary church, father Andrew presided Easter Sunday mass; brother and sister gave communion to the Christians. After the communion prayer, father Andrew blessed all children and some people who were unable to receive communion. Moreover, he also laid his hands on the heads of two women who were possessed and prayed for the risen Lord to come to their aid. The Christians who belonged to that church, became happy and joyful because that was the first time for them to attend Easter Sunday mass in their church.
Every weak on Tuesday, all sisters of SSPS come to our chapel and attend the mass with us. In the mass, we pray for our congregations and pray for peace of the whole world especially for peace in South Sudan. Sometimes, we have breakfast together after the mass, where we share some funny stories. We also share our advantages and disadvantages of missions together so that we can pray for ourselves. We believe that Jesus is present among us.
Every month, SVD fathers and brother and all SSpS sisters, organize Agape (small party) in SVD community house on the second Sunday and in SSpS community house on the fourth Sunday. In the party, we share our missions together and some traditional foods, prepared by some fathers, brother and some sisters who came from many countries. In it, we celebrate birthdays and feast days of our confreres.
Finally, through our missions together, we can bring some people nearby Jesus Christ, helping them to understand the Divine Mercy of our God. Moreover, we feel that we can deeply understand, co-operate and share our missions together in the love of God. Although we get some challenges in our missions, we can overcome them by praying for our confreres and benefactors. Therefore, until now, we are happy in our missions together.
