Feast of the Uganda Martyrs – 3rd June 2025
Today, Tuesday, 3rd June 2025, we joyfully celebrated the Feast of the Uganda Martyrs, a significant day in the life of the Church in Uganda. This solemnity was marked across many chapels throughout the country, including our own Sacred Heart of Jesus Chapel in the mission settlement.
The Uganda Martyrs Mass was attended by many Christians, who gathered in unity and faith to honor the courage and sacrifice of the martyrs. During the Mass, we dedicated our prayers especially to the mission of the Church—both locally and globally—and fervently prayed for peace in the world, with a special intention for lasting peace in South Sudan.
After the Eucharistic celebration, all the Christians came together for a communal lunch, sharing not only food but also fellowship and joy. The spirit of celebration continued as Christians from other chapels joined us. They contributed to the occasion with songs, traditional dances, and dramas that brought life and meaning to the feast day.
It was a truly blessed day, filled with faith, unity, and celebration—an occasion that reminded us of the strength of the Church, the importance of our mission, and the power of prayer and community.
