14th Sunday of Ordinary Time – Parish and settlement Missions
Today, the whole Catholic Church celebrated the 14th Sunday in Ordinary Time. We also joined in this celebration at our parish, Saint Arnold Janssen, and at several chapels throughout our settlement to offer the Holy Mass and other Sacraments.
We arrived early in the morning. Together with many Christians, we began our day in prayer by reciting the Rosary. While the choirs were practicing the hymns for the Mass, we also celebrated the Sacrament of Confession.
This Sunday, many faithful came joyfully to their chapels and attended the Mass with great devotion. During the liturgy, they prayed zealously, sang, and danced to give thanks and praise to the Lord our God. We invited them to continue praying for our intentions and for the success of our mission activities.
After the Mass, together with the community, we visited the sick and brought them the Holy Communion. On the way, the group prayed, sang, and shared joyful and funny stories. It was a blessing to witness the happiness and peace of the sick as they received the Holy Eucharist and experienced the love of God through our visit.
A special highlight of the day was the celebration of the first Mass at Saint Francis Chapel in Yoyo. This was the first time we celebrated Mass in their newly built chapel. The entire community was filled with joy and gratitude for finally having a place to worship within their own neighborhood.
After completing our mission activities, we shared a warm lunch with the community. We also received thoughtful gifts from them, a gesture of their love and appreciation.
Finally, we returned home in the love and mercy of God. On the road when we went back home, we gathered again to pray the Rosary and the Divine Mercy Chaplet—lifting our prayers for peace throughout the world and giving heartfelt thanks to God for all His blessings.
